4.11 REMOVING CLOGGED MATERIAL

ROTATING BLOWER BLADES

NEVER PUT YOUR HANDS INTO THE BLOWER
DISCHARGE CHUTE FOR ANY REASON! Shut off
the engine and remove the key and only then use
a stick or similar object to remove material if
clogging has occurred.

B. Raise the tailgate until the u-bolt on top of the

hopper engages with the latch on the tailgate
(Figure 4-11).

Stand off to side of the hopper. Raise the hopper
by placing a hand in the hand hole at either
bottom front side of the hopper (Figure 4-12) and
then carefully lift the hopper until it is in its
upright position and the hopper is emptied.

Release the latch holding the tailgate and then
lower the tailgate. Be careful when lowering the
tailgate. It is spring loaded and will close with
some force.

The side discharge chute can throw objects with
great force. Do not stand in front of discharge
chute when the cutter deck is engaged.

shut off the engine and remove the ignition key.
Using a stick or similar item, dislodge the clogged
material. Then resume normal mowing.
