Surround Back Outputs

The surround back speakers can be connected

to these outputs.

If you do not have surround back speakers, or do

not want to use them all the time, you can use the

TGR-401's intelligent speaker switching to "borrow"

the surround back amplifier channels to power your

Zone 2 speakers instead. When Zone 2 is powered

on, the surround back speakers will turn off in the

main zone. Likewise, when Zone 2 is powered off,

the surround back speakers in the main zone will

automatically turn back on. See the speaker con-

nections for Zone 2 on the next page.

You can still use the line-level surround back

outputs to run an external amp and power your sur-

round back speakers. The line-level Zone 2 outputs

can run an external amp and power your Zone 2

speakers.

Left/Right 2 Outputs

If you have two sets of left/right speakers, you

can turn one pair on and one pair off. For example,

one pair might be a pair for home theater, and one

for stereo listening. Using the Binding Posts menu,

you can easily switch between each pair.

Surround 2 Outputs

If you have two sets of surround speakers, you

can turn one pair on and one pair off. For example,

one pair might be a pair of bipole surround speak-

ers, and one a pair of conventional surround speak-

ers. Using the Binding Posts menu, you can easily

switch between each pair. For long theaters with

tiered seating, you can also configure both to be

active simultaneously (8 ohm minimum per speaker

in this case).
