Picture quality problems

You cannot take a
picture

Turn the camera off, then on again.

Depress shutter button all the way (

).

Insert a charged battery (

page 2

).

Wait until the ready light is green before attempting to
take another picture.

Transfer pictures to the computer (

), delete

pictures from the camera (

page 29

), switch image storage

locations (

page 24

), or insert a card with available

memory (

).

If...

Try one or more of the following

The computer does
not communicate with
the camera

Turn on the camera.

Insert a charged battery (

).

Make sure USB cable is securely connected on camera and
computer port (

Make sure the EasyShare software is installed (

).

Slide Show does not
run on an external
video device

Adjust the camera Video Out setting (NTSC or PAL,

).

Make sure the external device settings are correct (see the
device’s user’s guide).

If...

Try one or more of the following

The picture is too dark
or underexposed

Use Fill flash (

page 16

) or change your position so light is

not behind the subject.

Move so that the distance between you and the subject is
within the effective flash range (

page 16

).

To automatically set exposure and focus, press the Shutter
button halfway and hold. When the ready light glows
green, press the Shutter button the rest of the way
down
to take the picture.

Decrease the shutter speed or increase the ISO speed
(

page 14

).
