Troubleshooting

(continued)

The contents of the USB
fl ash drive cannot be read.

Slow operation of the
USB fl ash drive.

The connected card
reader/fl ash drive is not
detected. The message
‘USB Hub is not
supported’ appears.

No sound on HDMI
connection.

No picture on HDMI
connection.

Picture output through
the HDMI connection
does not look good.

– The USB fl ash drive format is not compatible with the

system.

– Drive is formatted with a different fi le system which is

not supported by this DVD recorder (e.g., NTFS).

– Large fi le size or high memory USB fl ash drive takes

longer time to read and display on the TV.

– This recorder only supports Mass Storage Class (MSC)

devices. Not all card readers/fl ash drives implement this
standard. Please use another device.

– You may not hear any sound from the HDMI output if

the connected device is non-HDCP compliant or only
DVI-compatible.

– It is not possible to output SACD or copy-controlled

DVD-Audio sources from the HDMI connection.

– Make sure that you have activated this recorder as the

HDMI input in the settings for the device you are using.
Press OPTIONS on the remote control, go to Video
setting and set the { Active Video Output } to
{ HDMI Output }.

– HDMI connection can only be made to HDMI-equipped

devices with HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content
Protection). If you wish to connect to a DVI connector
(equipped with HDCP), you will need a separate adaptor
(DVI to HDMI).

– Make sure the resolution of this recorder matches the

device you have connected using the HDMI. See HDMI
setting.

– Check if the HDMI cable is faulty. Replace a new HDMI

cable.

– When connecting to a non-HDCP compliant TV, the

HDCP warning message will appear only on the analogue
video output.

– Change the HDMI video resolution as follows:

1) Press OPTIONS on your remote control.
2) Select { Settings } > { Video Output } > { HDMI } in

the menu.

3) Select { Manual } > { 480p/560p }.
