Recording settings

(underlined options are the factory default settings)

Automatically divides a recording (title) into chapters by inserting
chapter markers at a specifi c interval. This enables you to access
a specifi c point in the recording quickly.
{ Smart }

– Chapter markers will be inserted at the

beginning and end of each commercial block
automatically after recording ended.

– For DV camcorder recording only, a chapter

marker is inserted whenever there is a break
in the time code on the DV tape.

{ Off }

– No chapter marker is inserted in the

recording.

{ Standard }

– Chapter markers are inserted automatically

during recording at approximately 5 (fi ve)
minutes interval.

Notes: { Smart } setting
– This can only happen when you put the recorder to standby
mode after the recording is completed. While in standby mode,
minor noise and heat will be generated due to commercial
chapter marking operation is in progress. Every one hour of
recording requires at least 30 minutes of processing time.
Previous recordings before you turn on this feature will not be
processed.
– When watching the recording, you can press NEXT >
button on the remote control to skip over commercials.
– Accuracy of commercial block detection depends on the
broadcasting parameters.

Select the type of audio mode for digital recording.
{ Stereo }

– Disable digital audio input. Record audio in

stereo mode.

{ Multichannel } – Record audio in multi-channel mode.

Note: Multi-channel recordings from digital terrestrial tuner can
only be played back on this recorder.
