connections (Component, S-Video, or
Composite Video). Check the manual for
your brand DVD to determine the best
possible video connection for your system.

Optional Video/Audio Cables (with standard
RCA plug connectors) are available to
complete your Component Input Jack
connections. Contact your dealer, or our Parts
Information Center (1-800-851-8885) to order
any optional accessories.

provide for the highest

possible color and picture
resolution in the playback of
digital signal source material such
as with DVD players. The color
difference signals (P

luminance (Y) signal are
connected and received separately
which permits for improved color
bandwidth information (not
possible when using composite
video or S-Video connections).

DVD player to the (Y P

VIDEO IN(puts) on the DPTV.

Connect the AUDIO OUT

jacks R(ight) and L(eft) from the
DVD player to the STEREO IN
AUDIO IN jacks on the DPTV.

Select "DVD" as the picture

source mode for the DPTV.

Press the “ext input” button on
the Pronto (or the Source button on
the DPTV’s local keyboard) to
select the DVD input for use on the
DPTV.

Turn the DVD player ON and

press PLAY to view the source
material playback on the DPTV.

The description for the

component video connectors

may differ depending on the DVD
player or accessory digital source
equipment used (e.g. Y P

Y/B-Y/Y; Cr/Cb/Y, etc.).
Although abbreviations and terms
may vary, the letters “B” and “R”
stand for the blue and red color
component signal connectors and
“Y” indicates the luminance
signal. Refer to your DVD or
digital accessory Owner’s Manual
for definitions and connection
details.

DVD MODE - MENU FUNCTIONS

• Note: A variety of Picture,

Sound, and Input adjustment
Menu controls

are available for

use within the DVD Input Source
mode. These control feature items
can assist in the setup of optimum
format and viewing levels when
using the DPTV with an external
accessory DVD player.
Just press the Menu (or ok) button
on the Pronto remote when in the
DVD Source mode to display the
list of on screen controls. Then
use the Menu buttons to adjust
the individual controls as desired.
