Press the Pronto remote’s “DTV” Command mode
button (or the “Source” button on the DPTV’s local
keyboard) to select the ATSC operating mode.
• Note: Standards were devised as part of the ATSC
system to allow TV stations to transmit Program
Service Information Protocol (or PSIP) for DTV
channels. This information system enables
stations to broadcast various electronic on-screen
program guides (in order to inform digital TV
viewers of station channel locations and availability
of programs); as well as allowing for the reception of
signal coding necessary for digital audio processing
and Parental Content Advisory system for movies
and TV programming .
Program and System Information (PSIP)
O nce connected to receive
digital ATSC broadcast
signals, available area channels
can be added into the DPTV’s
channel scan memory by the use of
the DTV Setup Menu.

information on digital channel
programming and direct ATSC
channel selections or access.
Select DTV Setup control.
With the DTV Main Menu on-
screen, move the highlight with the
MENU ▲▼ buttons. Then press
the MENU (or ok) button.
Press the MENU ▲▼ buttons
to select the Full Installation
option, then press the Menu button.
The DPTV shows an Installing
indicator bar on screen as the
digital channels are added into
scan memory.
"DTV Setup Complete" shows
when the DPTV is through adding
digital channels into memory.
Press the “exit” (or Menu)
button to clear the screen.

Note: With the “full
installation” Auto Program
option the DPTV rewrites its entire
digital channel scan “map”
currently held in memory.
The “add new channels” Auto
Program option allows you to retain
the current DPTV channel scan
memory map, and include only the
new digital channel stations as they
become available for selection.

• The DPTV’s “Tuning - Program
or Channel” Menu control allows
you to switch between either tuning
to a specific physical channel (direct
tune); or using the DTV Setup list of
programmed channels (or the
“installed” channel map) without
the loss of previously stored
PSIP channel encoded information
(see explanation given above).
If, for instance, a new program is
located during the use of the direct
access “Tuning - Channel” search
mode of operation, the viewer could
easily add the new channel number
into the memory code list of the
DPTV by the use of the “Add/Delete
Channels” control found under the
FEATURES MENU option.
