MAINTENANCE
Front Gearcase Oil
Always check and change the
front gearcase oil at the intervals
outlined in the Periodic Mainte-
nance Chart beginning on page
70. Maintain the oil level at the
bottom of the fill hole threads.
We recommend the use of
Polaris
Premium ATV Angle Drive
Fluid. See page 126 for the part
numbers of Polaris products.
Oil Check
1. Position the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Remove the fill plug.
3. Check the oil level.
4. Add the recommended gearcase oil as needed to bring the level to
the bottom of the fill hole threads.
5. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
Oil Change
1. Position the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Remove the fill plug.
3. Place a drain pan under the gearcase. The drain plug is located on
the bottom right-hand side of the gearcase.
4. Remove the drain plug. Allow the oil to drain completely.
5. Clean and reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
6. Add the recommended oil. See page 124 for capacities. Maintain the
oil level at the bottom of the fill hole threads.
7. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
8. Check for leaks.
9. Dispose of used oil properly.
