Model 3163 DSU/CSU Rear Panel
The 3163 DSU/CSU rear panel contains the connectors
required for the operation of the DSU/CSU (Figure 1-2).
The connectors and their functions are listed in Table 1-1.

Name Function
POWER Supplies power to the DSU/CSU by providing an attachment for the ac power
module or the optional dc power cable (+24 or – 48 Vdc).
COM PORT Provides access to a locally connected PC, ASCII terminal or printer, or async
terminal interface.
MODEM Provides a connection to the integral modem for access to a remotely connected
PC, ASCII terminal or printer, or async terminal interface.
NETWORK Provides access to the T1 network.
PORT 1 Used to connect the customer’s synchronous data DTE to the DSU/CSU.
