Stopping the picture (still frame mode) - DVDs and video CDs

Use this function to stop the picture from shaking and achieve a clearer picture
when the DVD is set to the pause mode. Press the SETUP button to display the
setup screen, then operate as described under “Making settings using the
setup screen” on pages 60 and 61. Switch the setup screen to the expert
mode before making this setting. (Page 62)
• Field: In this mode, shakiness of still
pictures is eliminated.
• Frame: This is the normal mode.
• Auto: The mode automatically
switches between field and frame.
This setting can be changed during
playback.
Note:
For some discs the picture may not be
clearer in the “Field” mode.

Hint:
• With DVDs, if the picture is shaky, switch
the pause mode setting on the setup screen
to “Field” (see below).
• Press the PLAY or PAUSE button to cancel
the still frame mode.
