Playback
Preparation
Turn on the television and select the video input for the VCR.

Press [VCR] to put the remote control
in VCR mode.

Press [ Í] to turn on the unit.

Press [DVD/VCR] to select “VCR” as
the source.
The following indicator appears when you select VCR.

Insert a tape.
Play starts automatically
if you insert a
prerecorded tape or one
that has had its tab removed.

Press [ 1] (play).

Adjust the volume.

Stop Press [ ∫].
Fast-forward
and rewind While stopped, press [ 6] (backward) or
[ 5] (forward).
Jet rewind While stopped, press [SHIFT] i[6 JET
REW].
Cue and
review During play, press [ 6] (backward) or [5]
(forward).
Or
Press and hold during play. Play restarts
when you release the button.
Jet search During play, press [ 6] (backward) or [5]
(forward) twice.
Pause Press [ ;].
Press [ ;] or [1] (play) to restart.
Slow Press and hold [ ;] for about two seconds.
Eject Press [ < VCR EJECT] on the main unit or
[SHIFT] i[OPEN/CLOSE/EJECT] on the
remote control.
Note
≥Press [1] (play) to restart play.
≥You can fast-forward and rewind while using another source.
≥The tape counter does not appear during Jet rewind.
≥The tape moves at high speed during fast-forward, rewind,
and jet rewind so the unit will make a noise. Also, it takes
some time for the tape to stop after you press [
∫].
≥There is no sound during cue, review, jet search, pause, and
slow.
≥Cue, review, jet search, and slow stop after 10 minutes and
pause after 5 minutes.
≥The picture during cue, review, and jet search may be
disrupted or otherwise affected on some televisions. During jet
search at 35 times normal speed through EP or VP
recordings, the picture may scroll vertically with some
televisions. Change to 27-times normal speed if this occurs
(
➡ page 44).
≥You can eject tapes when the unit is in standby mode. It
switches back to standby once it ejects the tape.
≥You cannot eject tapes when the VCR is in timer recording
standby or actually recording.
