Engine Backfires
Possible Cause Solution
Weak, fouled or defective spark plug Inspect, clean and/or replace spark plugs
Incorrect spark plug gap or heat range Set gap to specs or replace plugs
Old or non-recommended fuel Replace with new fuel
Exhaust leak Inspect system for leaks; see your Polaris dealer
Incorrectly installed spark plug wire See your Polaris dealer
Incorrect ignition timing See your Polaris dealer
Mechanical failure See your Polaris dealer
