The COOLPIX S4 features 16 specially programmed modes

to automatically handle focus, exposure, white balance and other adjust-

ments, that help you take great pictures at the press of a button. A great new function to be used in the Portrait Mode is Face Priority AF which
automatically fi nds the subject’s face and focuses on it. 4 of the 16 scene modes come with Scene Assist which offer a selection of easy framing
assist options to help you compose your pictures with the assistance of framing guides displayed in the monitor.

Here is how it works:

Useful automatic features do all the thinking for you

Panorama Assist

Allows you to take several side-by-side images, all at the same

exposure and white balance setting, then combine them later using the “Panorama
Maker

TM

” photo editing software (supplied) to create spectacular wide-vista photos.

Face Priority AF

All New Face Priority AF (in Portrait Scene) mode will automatically

fi nd the subject’s face and focus on that. This ensures a great portrait every time.

Landscape

Emphasizing depth-of-fi eld, this mode

captures distant scenes sharply and clearly, for postcard like
landscape pictures.

Close Up

Shoot as close as 1.6” from your subject.

Beach/Snow

When shooting a scene with snow or wa-

ter in the background, the image is free of grayish tones
that are caused by typical underexposure.

Portrait

Automatically adjusts the camera setttings to

get a sharp subject with a blurred background.

Sunset

Exposure is automatically controlled, enabling you

to preserve the exquisite, natural beauty of a sunset.

Now, shoot up to 290 photos with optional rechargeable AA batteries
