Appendix D: Updating Skype
Skype updates it software periodically, and you want to make sure that you have the
latest version of the program on your phone’s flash drive. To update Skype, you will first
download the files from the Skype Web site and install them to your computer. Then you
will override the old files by copying and pasting the new files onto the phone.
⇒ Anytime you update your Skype software, you should also do so for SkyMagic or else
you may experience problems with your phone! Instructions about how to update
your SkyMagic can be found in Appendix E.
Downloading Skype
The first step you must take in order to update your phone’s version of Skype is to
acquire that version by downloading it from the Skype Web site and installing it onto
your computer.
1. To begin, open your Web browser. In the address bar, type in the URL for the
Skype home page: http://www.skype.com and press your Enter key.
2. When the Skype Web page has fully loaded, click on the link that says
Download Skype.
