Uses

Use for normal recording. The shutter speed is set to
1/60 second.

Use to record fast moving action with less blurring
when you plan on playing back the recording on a
VCR using special effects, such as pause and slow
motion. Shutter speed is automatically selected
between 1/60 and 1/250 second.

Use to record a still subject – such as a person or
flower, when zooming in, or when there is something
between the camcorder and subject. Reduces depth-
of-field so background becomes blurry while subject
remains clearly focused. Focus is locked in auto.

Use outdoors and in well-lit situations to record fast-
moving action with less blurring when you plan on
playing back the recording on a VCR using special
effects, such as pause and slow motion. Can capture
faster action than sports mode. Shutter speed is
automatically selected between 1/250 and 1/1000
second.

The SCENE SELECT AE dial lets you select four different recording modes. Turn the
dial to select the mode for the effect you want. The indicator for the mode you select
will appear in the viewfinder. Set the dial to AUTO for normal recording.
