disappears. Then press E. You can also use
the 0-9 keys to select the bank. To continue
searching, press FUNC + SVC.
If you entered a frequency that has already been
entered elsewhere, the scanner sounds an error
tone and displays the channel that was duplicated.
If you entered the frequency by mistake, press ./CLR
then enter the correct frequency. To enter the
frequency anyway, press E to accept.
scanning the stored channels
To begin scanning channels, press SCAN. The
scanner scans through all non-locked channels in
the activated banks. (See “locking out channels” on
Page 48 and “turning channel-storage banks on and
off” on Page 48). The scanner stops when it finds a
transmission. When the transmission ends, the
scanner resumes scanning.
Notes:
• If you have not stored frequencies into any
channels, the scanner does not scan.
• If the scanner picks up unwanted partial, or very
weak transmissions, turn SQUELCH clockwise
to decrease the scanner’s sensitivity to these
signals. To listen to a weak or distant station,
turn SQUELCH counterclockwise.
