Network configuration

You can connect the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center to an existing Home
PNA or Ethernet network to share files with your PCs or Rio Receivers or to
connect to the Internet. You can also create a network connection between your
Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center and a single Rio Receiver.

Home Phoneline Networking (Home PNA)

Your Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center can use your standard phonelines to
create a Home PNA network connection between it and any Rio Receivers or
computers with Home PNA network adapters you have plugged into the same
phonelines. It is a simple solution to your networking needs.

1. Plug the included phone chord into the Phoneline Jack on the back of the Rio

Advanced Digital Audio Center.

2. Plug the other end of the phone cord into the nearest Wall Jack.

Ethernet

To connect the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center into an Ethernet network,
you need a USB Ethernet adapter (not included). Plug the USB Ethernet adapter
into USB Port 2 at the back of the Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center (or into
the front USB Port) and into an Ethernet cable plugged into an Ethernet Jack.

NOTE: At this time, supported USB Ethernet adapters include:

LinkSys USB10T

LinkSys USB100TX

Dlink DSB-650TX (not DSB-650C)

SMC 2202USB/ETH

Please visit our Web site support section for the most current list of
supported USB Ethernet adapters.

NOTE: At this time, USB hubs are not supported, and may cause

unreliable operation. However, Ethernet hubs (with an
appropriate Ethernet adapter) will work fine.

Broadband

If you have a broadband internet connection — direct subscriber line (DSL) or
cable modem — connect your Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center the same way
you connect your computer to your cable modem or DSL. This generally includes
connecting your Rio Advanced Digital Audio Center to Ethernet using a USB
Ethernet adapter and Ethernet cable, then either:

With a hub, use normal cables or for direct connect use crossover cable or

Without a hub, use Ethernet cable.

Your broadband internet provider should be able to give you the details of your
particular setup.
