TORQUE CONVERTER

Note: If you do not feel comfortable performing maintenance on the torque converter,

please take your go-kart to an authorized service center.

The Torque Converter must be kept clean and lubricated to extend the life of the

components and to provide proper operation If you use your vehicle under normal

conditions, you should service the torque converter at intervals specified in the

maintenace schedule page of this manual. If you ride in dusty, wet, or muddy

conditions, you will need to inspect, clean and re-lubricate the torque converter more

frequently. If you experience Jerky conditions while throttle is applied, it is more

than likely, the torque converter needs cleaning. Use the following procedures to

remove torque converter, inspect, clean and lubricate diver and driven components.

* Remove Torque Converter cover (1) by removing screws located around outside of

cover

* Remove Driver (2) of torque converter by removing Shaft bolt (3)

* Remove Drive belt (4)

* Remove Driven (5) of torque converter by removing Jackshaft nut (6), Pull

Driven off shaft

Removing Torque Converter cover while engine is running could be hazardous

.

Running engine while Torque Converter cover is removed increases the chance of hair,

clothing or body parts being entangled in moving components which could result in severe

injury or death.

Never run engine while Torque Converter cover is removed.
