Configuring the DV-CP706
This chapter explains the various functions and settings of the on-screen setup menus.
Functions and settings are arranged into six menus:
Picture , Audio , Language , Display , Operation Setting , and
Initial Setup .
The following table lists all the functions and settings, with a brief description and page number where you can find full
details.

TV Shape Select the aspect ratio that matches your TV. 44
View Mode Stretch the picture to fit your TV screen. 45
HDMI Output Setting Turn HDMI video output on or off. 45
Progressive Setting Set the component video output to progressive or interlaced. 45
HD Resolution Select the video resolution for the HDMI OUT. 45
HD JPEG mode For displaying JPEG images at a high resolution on a HDTV. 45
Video Black Level Choose a video black level. 46
Brightness Adjust the picture brightness. 46
Sharpness Adjust the picture sharpness. 46
PAL Output Setting (Austra-
lian model only)
Convert the disc’s video format. 46
Audio Digital/HDMI Audio Out
Settings for the digital signal output by the optical, coaxial, and
HDMI digital audio outputs.

Linear PCM Out
Select whether or not the DV-CP706 downsamples 96 kHz dig-
ital audio.

Dynamic Range Control Set the Dynamic Range function. 46

On-Screen Language
Select a language for the on-screen setup menus and mes-
sages.

Disc Menu Language Select your preferred language for disc menus. 47
Audio Language Select your preferred language for soundtracks. 47
Subtitle Language Select your preferred language for subtitles. 47
Display
On-Screen Display Turn on or off on-screen messages and indicators. 47
On-Screen Display Color Select a color for on-screen setup menus and messages. 47
Background Select a background color for when playback is stopped. 47
Screen Saver Set the Screen Saver function. 47

Security Code Change a security code for use with parental lock. 48
HDMI Control Turn on or off RIHD control over HDMI. 49
Power Control Turn on or off RIHD power control over HDMI. 49

Auto Power Off Sets the Auto power off function. 49
Initial Setup TV Shape
This menu appears automatically the very first time you turn on
your DV-CP706. (These settings are available in other menus.)
