TABLE OF CONTENTS

Dear Whistler Owner,

The Whistler 1788 features the newest POP™ Mode

detection capability combined with the convenience and
portability of a battery operated unit. The problem with
some battery operated laser-radar detectors is that the
receiver shuts down for 30 to 50 percent of the time to
conserve battery life, leaving the driver vulnerable. During
this time the display is left on to give you the feeling of full
time protection, which is not true. This is not the case with
the Whistler 1788.

The Whistler 1788, provides cordless detection and is

powered ON 100 percent of the time. This unit provides
Complete Band Protection and is packed full of features.
Some of the features include:

• POP™ Mode Detection Capability operating on

K and Ka bands. This mode acquires the vehicle's
speed in less than 1/15 of a second.

• Blue Backlit LCD Text Display provides easy to read

band identification and signal strength.

• Built-in Battery Charger automatically

recharges the unit when the power cord is
connected.

• Stay Alert tests alertness on long trips.

Even though this unit is packed full of features it is still very
easy to use. To fully utilize your unit to its potential, we
recommend reading this entire manual or visit our
FAQ page on our web site www.whistlergroup.com.
Enjoy your new Whistler and please drive safely.
Sincerely,

The Whistler Group, Inc.
