OPERATION

Power On and Self Test

Each time your Whistler detector is turned on,
an automatic self-test sequence confirms that
the speaker and visual displays are functional.
To increase volume, continue turning the
volume knob.

Audio Level Adjustment (1734 Only)

The audio levels can be adjusted high to low, or
low to high, in seven steps:

• Press Volume up to increase audio

level.

• Press Volume

down to decrease audio

level.

INSTALLATION

Audio Level Adjustment (Continued)

As audio level is adjusted, beeps are

provided and the display indicates volume level.

The more numbers illuminated, the higher the

volume.

Feature Engaged Confirmation

Each time a button is pressed one beep confirms feature

“on”, two beeps confirm feature “off”.

Self Test Mute (1734 Only)

Simply press the Quiet button during the

self-test sequence to cancel the self-test audio. This

will not affect radar/laser alerts. To restore the

self-test audio, simply press the Quiet button during

the next self-test.

Setting Saver (1734 Only)

Setting Saver saves your personalized

settings so that when the detection is turned off

and then on again, you do not have to re-enter

them.

Auto Quiet Mode

Pressing QUIET before a radar signal is

detected provides an alternate alert pattern,

consisting of four beeps (indicating X, K, Ka or Safety

Radar) followed by clicking. The clicking will continue

for as long as the detected signal is present or any

new signal is detected within 20 seconds, becoming

more rapid as the strength of the signal increases.

Note: 1734 will go to volume level 1 instead of clicking. If

Auto Quiet is engaged, pressing QUIET while the

unit is alarming will cancel the beeps or clicking.

Pressing QUIET a second time when the unit is

notalarming will cancel Auto Quiet mode and

restore the continuous audio alert pattern.

OPERATION

Quiet Mode

Quiet cancels audio during an alert and any new
alert within 20 seconds. After approximately 20
seconds, 2 beeps are provided on any new alert,
and unit then remains quiet.
