FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY
• Read and save the enclosed safety instructions.
• Avoid damage that can be caused by screws, nails and other elements

in your workpiece.

• Always keep the cord away from moving parts of your tool.
• When you put away your tool, switch off the motor and ensure that all

moving parts have come to a complete standstill.

• In case of jamming, immediately switch off the tool and disconnect the

plug.

• Before using accessories always compare the maximum allowed

r.p.m. of that specifi c accessory with the r.p.m. of your tool.

• Never fasten an accessory key to your tool with a piece of rope or

something similar.

• Never use your tool without the original protection guard system.
• Avoid injury by using personal protection material like safety-goggles,

hearing protection, safety-gloves, safety-shoes, etc.

• Always use diamond cutting wheels with this tool.
• Do not use a diamond cutting wheel which is cracked or deformed.
• After switching off your wall chaser, never stop the rotation of the

diamond cutting wheel by a lateral force applied against it.

• Ensure that the cutting depth adjustment handle is always fi rmly fi xed

while you use the tool.

• Only use the fl anges and washers which are supplied with the tool.
• Do not cut material containing asbestos.
• This tool is not suitable for wet cutting.

HOW TO HANDLE
Mounting/removing of diamond cutting wheels (see fi g. 1).

- while loosening/tightening bolt A with wrench B spindlelock button

C should be pushed.

Change diamond cutting wheels with arrow printed on cutting

wheels pointing in same direction as arrow on protection
guard.

Always leave inner fl ange D on tool.
Make sure that clamping surfaces of fl anges and washers are

perfectly clean.

- check if diamond cutting wheels run freely by turning them by

hand.

Adjusting cutting depth (see fi g. 2).

- for reaching maximum cutting depth in concrete, 3 subsequent

cuts are required: 15 mm, 30 mm and 48 mm.

Keep in mind that due to wear of the diamond cutting wheel,

cutting depth may differ.

- for easy adjustment of cutting depth you should align the material,

for which you intend to make the groove, with front and back
guiding rolls (not in between the diamond cutting wheels) and
adjust the cutting depth according to the material’s diameter.

• Before using your tool a RIDGID vacuum cleaner should be connected

to integrated adapter E.

• Safety

switch.

Prevents the tool from being switched on by accident.

- tool is switched on by fi rst pressing knob F with your thumb and

then pulling trigger G with your fi ngers.

- tool is switched off by releasing trigger G.

• Electronic soft start.
Ensures reaching the maximum speed smoothly without a sudden

impact when tool is switched on.

Cutting vertical grooves (see fi g. 3).

- put front guiding rolls H at the top of the wall section to be cut.
- make sure that handle J points downwards.
- switch on your tool.
- wait until maximum speed has been reached.
- enter diamond cutting wheels gently into the wall until back guiding

rolls K also rest on the wall.

- gently move tool downwards.

• Electronic overload protection.

- protects motor from damage when tool is overloaded without

having to stop it and/or let it cool down for a period of time.

- as soon as reduction of motor speed is noticed you should reduce

pressure until speed is back to normal.

• Holding and guiding the tool (see fi g. 4).

- the tool can be guided in all directions.
Always follow cutting direction indicated by arrow on

protection guard.

Keep all 4 guiding rolls on the wall during cutting.
- hold the tool fi rmly, so you will have full control of the tool at all

times.

- do not apply too much pressure on the tool.

• Keep the air vent openings clean and uncovered.
• Adjusting groove width.
Sixteen different groove widths can be obtained by adjustment of the

washers as shown at the back of this instruction manual.

Sighting edge for guiding tool along cutting line (see fi g. 5).
Always make trial cuts fi rst to verify actual cutting line.
• Before lifting your tool from the workpiece, you should switch off the

motor and ensure that all moving parts have come to a complete
standstill.

APPLICATION ADVICE
• Do not force the tool; let the speed on the diamond cutting wheel do

the work.
