Goto and Routes

For Automatic Routes:

5. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to select the desired destination category (e.g., ‘Points of

Interest’ or ‘Cities’) and press ENTER.

6. For points of interest, waypoints or cities, select between ‘Nearest’ or ‘By Name’ and

press ENTER. When selecting by name, or selecting addresses or intersections, use
the ROCKER KEYPAD and ENTER to enter the destination by name.

7. Select any additional category information, if prompted to do so. When viewing a

nearest list, use the ROCKER KEYPAD to select the desired location and press
ENTER to display an information page.

8. From the information page, use the ROCKER KEYPAD to select ‘Goto’ and press

ENTER. From the Route Preference window, use the ROCKER KEYPAD to select
‘Faster Time’, ‘Shorter Distance’ or ‘Off Road’ and press ENTER.

For Manual Routes:

5. The fi rst blank line of the route is highlighted. Press ENTER, use the ROCKER

KEYPAD to select the desired category (e.g., ‘Points of Interest’ or ‘Cities’) and
press ENTER.

6. For points of interest, waypoints or cities, select between ‘Nearest’ or ‘By Name’ and

press ENTER. When selecting by name, or selecting addresses or intersections, use
the ROCKER KEYPAD and ENTER to enter the destination by name.

7. Select any additional category information, if prompted to do so. When viewing a

nearest list, use the ROCKER KEYPAD to select the desired location and press
ENTER to display an information page.

8. To add the desired location to the manual route, use the ROCKER KEYPAD to

highlight ‘Use’ and press ENTER. (If you wish to view the location on the map
fi rst, select ‘Map’ instead.)

9. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to select the next blank line of the route and repeat

steps 5-8 to add another location to the route. Continue until you have all locations
in the route. When fi nished building the route, press QUIT.

You can create automatic or manual routes.
Automatic routes use the routing features in
MapSource City Select data and the GPS V’s
built-in basemap to automatically select the
required turns to reach your fi nal destination.

Manual routes are created by adding each
location along the route manually, beginning
with your departure point.
