Battery Gauge

The battery icon

in the

upper right corner of the Menu
page indicates the status of the
internal battery.

Periodically, you might notice
that the battery gauge is not
completely accurate. To increase
the accuracy of the battery gauge,
fully discharge the battery and
then fully charge it without
interrupting the charging. For
best results, do not unplug the
nüvi until it is totally charged.

Battery Information

Your unit contains an internal, non-removable, lithium-ion
battery. Contact your local waste disposal department for
information on properly disposing of the unit.

Battery Tips

• Your nüvi’s battery should last 4 to 8 hours depending on usage.

The battery gauge indicates the status of the battery.

• To extend the battery life, reduce the time the backlight stays on.

• To extend the battery life, close the antenna when you do not

need to receive GPS signals.

• To maximize the life of the lithium-ion battery, do not leave your

nüvi direct sunlight and avoid prolonged exposure to excessive
heat.

• Do not leave your nüvi exposed in an unattended vehicle on a

hot day. To prevent damage, remove it from the vehicle; or store
it out of direct sunlight, such as in the glove box.
