AURAL ALERTS

Aural Alert

Description

“Minimums, minimums”

The aircraft has descended below the preset barometric minimum descent altitude.

“Vertical track”

The aircraft is one minute from Top of Descent. Issued only when vertical navigation is enabled.

“Traffic”

The Traffic Information Service (TIS) has issued a Traffic Advisory alert.

“TIS not available”

The aircraft is outside the Traffic Information Service (TIS) coverage area.

“Traffic, Traffic”

Played when first Traffic Advisory (TA) is issued. “Traffic” for each subsequent TA.

“Traffic Advisory System Test Passed”

Played when the TAS system passes a pilot-initiated self test.

“Traffic Advisory System Test Failed”

Played when the TAS system fails a pilot-initiated self test.

COMPARATOR ANNUNCIATIONS

The Comparator monitors critical values generated by redundant sensors. If differences in the sensors exceed

a specified amount, this discrepency is annunciated in the Comparator Window as a ‘MISCOMP’ (miscompare)
as seen in Figure A-6. If one or both of the sensed values are unavailable, it is annunciated as a ‘NO COMP’ (no
compare). The following is a list of the possible annunciations:

Condition

ALT MISCOMP

Difference in altitude sensors is > 200 ft.

IAS MISCOMP

If both airspeed sensors detect < 35 knots, this is inhibited.
If either airspeed sensor detects > 35 knots, and the difference in sensors is > 10 knots.
If either airspeed sensor detects > 80 knots, and the difference in sensors is > 7 knots.

HDG MISCOMP

Difference in heading sensors is > 6 degrees.

PIT MISCOMP

Difference in pitch sensors is > 5 degrees.

ROL MISCOMP

Difference in roll sensors is > 6 degrees.

ALT NO COMP

No data from one or both altitude sensors.

IAS NO COMP

No data from one or both airspeed sensors.

HDG NO COMP

No data from one or both heading sensors.

PIT NO COMP

No data from one or both pitch sensors.

ROL NO COMP

No data from one or both roll sensors..
