The MSN Direct Receiver, which is
integrated in the vehicle power cable,
receives MSN Direct content such as
traffic, weather, gas prices, and movie
times. For more information about MSN
Direct, see http://garmin.msndirect.com .
The MSN Direct Receiver and c580
must be in range of an MSN Direct
coverage area. For coverage areas, see
http://garmin.msndirect.com/coverage .
Your c580 must be connected to the
MSN Direct Receiver (vehicle power
cable) to receive MSN Direct content.

Activating Your MSN
Direct Receiver
To receive MSN Direct content, first you
must activate your service (1-year free
service included).
1. Connect the vehicle power cable to
your c580 and your vehicle’s power
outlet. Turn your vehicle’s key to the
ON/ACC position, if necessary, to
power the c580.
2. On the Menu page, touch .
3. Write down the product key.
4. Call (866) 658.7032 or go to
http://garmin.msndirect.com/activate
and follow the directions .
5. Within two days of completing step 4
above, complete the following steps:
Connect the vehicle power cable,
and turn the key to ON/ACC.
Make sure that you are in a
coverage area.
On the Menu page, touch
.
If the Subscription Inactive page
appears, verify that at least one
signal bar in the upper right corner
is green . It may take up to 20
minutes for your subscription to be
activated. After it is activated, the
MSN Direct Menu (see page 20 ) is
accessible.
