Using the Grid menu (continued)
Setting the GUIDE Plus+ timer to record
Push the cursor stick to >/./?// to select
the program you want to record, then press
the green (Record) or VCR Plus+ button.
The selected program listing turns red, and
the VCR is set to record this program in EP
mode. Insert a tape with its safety tab in place
and turn off the VCR before recording starts.
Tips
• You can cancel the GUIDE Plus+ timer settings, change the recording pattern (Once,
Daily, or Weekly), and change the tape speed by using the Schedule menu (page 71).
When you select a program for recording and press the green (Schedule) button,
you will go to the Schedule menu.
• You can cancel the GUIDE Plus+ timer settings if you make a mistake by pressing
the blue (Cancel) button. However, you cannot cancel timer settings on the Grid
menu after you move the cursor to other programs.
• When you set the GUIDE Plus+ timer to record the program currently being
broadcast, the VCR starts recording that program in the tape speed selected on the
VCR.
• When you record a program on a SmartFile tape using the GUIDE Plus+ timer, the
program and category name are automatically stored on the SmartFile list (page 41).
Setting the GUIDE Plus+ timer for viewing
Push the cursor stick to >/./?// to select
the program you want to watch, then press
the blue (Watch) button.
The selected program listing turns orange,
and the VCR is placed in viewing timer
standby mode. When the preset program
begins, the VCR automatically turns on and
sets the channel to the selected program’s
channel.
Tips
• You can cancel the GUIDE Plus+ timer settings and change the viewing pattern
(Once, Daily, or Weekly) by using the Schedule menu (page 71). When you select a
program for viewing and press the green (Schedule) button, you will go to the
Schedule menu.
• You can cancel the GUIDE Plus+ timer settings if you make a mistake by pressing
the blue (Cancel) button. However, you cannot cancel timer settings on the Grid
menu after you move the cursor to other programs.
• Whenever the VCR is automatically turned on by the preset GUIDE Plus+ timer
viewing function, the VCR automatically turns off after the preset program finishes.
However, if you press any button while viewing the program, the VCR will not
automatically turn off.
