6. CARE AND MAINTENANCE

To keep the Scale operating properly, the housing should be kept clean and free from foreign material. If necessary, a
cloth dampened with a mild detergent may be used.

6.1 Troubleshooting

If the Troubleshooting section does not resolve your problem, you need to contact an authorized Ohaus service agent.

SYMPTOM

Unit will not turn on.

Cannot zero Scale, or will not zero

when turned on.

RS232 not working.

Unable to calibrate unit.

Cannot display weight in desired

weighing unit.

Cannot change menu settings.

Key press causes three beeps and

key press is ignored.

REMEDY

Check AC power.

Check AC Adapter connection.

Check connections at the back of

the Scale.

Check orientation of the batteries.

Replace batteries.

Service required.

Remove load on Scale.

Service required.

Verify communication param-

eters.

Check cable connections.

Set Lock Cal to OFF in the Loc

menu. Lock Switch on the circuit

board may need to be set to off

position.

Use correct calibration mass.

Enable desired unit in Read menu.

Set selected menu to OFF in the

LOC menu. Lock switch on the

circuit board may need to be set
to OFF position.
Review manual.

PROBABLE CAUSE(S)

Adapter not plugged in or properly con-

nected.

Batteries dead or not properly

installed.

Other failure.

Load on Scale exceeds allowable limits.

Load cell damage.

RS232 communication parameters not

set correctly.

Improper or loose cable connections.

Software Lockout switch set to ON.

Incorrect value for calibration mass.

Desired unit not set to ON in Read menu.

Menu has been locked.

Improper key function or selection not

available.
