NOTE: Alkaline type solutions may cause
damage to machined surfaces and should be avoided.
3. Stake pilot bearing in nine places using a center
punch or equivalent tool.
See Figure 13.
4. Press inner and outer bearing cups into the carrier
until seated. Use a feeler gauge (.0015 inch) to
make sure that bearing cups are fully seated in
bearing bores. Apply hypoid gear lubricant to both
cup and cone.

gear, pinion shaft should be turned at least 8 rotations
to assure proper alignment of bearing rollers.
