INSTALLING THE CEILING CLOSURE PANEL

The VU-PRO projector lift comes fitted with a blank ceiling closure panel. This panel is attached
to the tilting brackets by four screws, on the underside, to allow easy removal and access to the
unit from below. The screw heads are covered by plastic caps.

Depending on installation requirements, the provided closure panel may be used directly as is; it
may be covered with another panel to match an existing ceiling; or it may be removed entirely
and replaced with a custom panel. In any event, the total overall thickness of this panel will
effect the final adjustments of the closure detail - and if too thick, may require adjustment of the
four, 1/2” threaded rods that support the entire projector lift.

1. If the panel was removed, run the traveling platform down and reinstall the panel. Referring

to Figure 6, notice that the panel is not horizontal when the lift is in the down position, but
tips forward to avoid interference with the projected light beam.

Loosen the hex nuts holding the sliding brackets to the 3/8 dia. threaded rods, and move the
sliding brackets down approximately 1/2 inch.

2. Loosen the four hex bolts that

control the final position of
the ceiling closure panel (see
Figure 7a), and screw them in
approximately 1/2 inch.

3. Run the unit up until it stops

automatically. Rotate the
closure panel by hand until it
is level, then measure the
distance the panel needs to
move to be in the correct
position

4. Run the unit down and adjust

the sliding brackets by the
measured distance.

At this time, do not try to set the four hex bolts that control the final position of the closure
panel - a little mismatch at this point could cause the lift to strip the closure panel off of it’s
hanger, if the panel raises to far.

5. Run the unit up and check for evenness of panel and finished ceiling. Repeat steps 3 and 4

until satisfied.
