Use the mode button [C] to scroll through the available functions. The

current function is flashing (except ε).


MIN

The MIN function is not supported.

MAX

The MAX function is not supported.

LOCK

Press the IRT button [D] to enable LOCK-mode (continuous

measurement). Press the hold button [E] to exit LOCK-mode.

°C/°F

When °C indication is flashing, press the IRT button [D] to switch

to °F mode and vice versa.

ε

Press the up [E] and down [D] buttons to set the emissivity

(see §7).

To switch off the thermometer press the ON/OFF button [F] two times.

Clamp mode

All data is shown on the probe/clamp LCD [B2].

Push the clamp trigger [G] to open the clamp [H]. Place the clamp over

the target (e.g. a hot pipe) and read the temperature.

Press the mode button [C] to switch between °C and °F display.

Press the hold button [E] to hold the current value on the display. Press

the hold button [E] again to continue measuring.

To switch off the thermometer press the ON/OFF button [F].

Probe mode

All data is shown on the probe/clamp LCD [B2].

Insert the probe [I] into the target and read the temperature.

Press the mode button [C] to switch between °C and °F display.

Press the hold button [E] to hold the current value on the display. Press

the hold button [E] again to continue measuring.

To switch off the thermometer press the ON/OFF button [F].

7. Useful information

Emissivity
Emissivity describes the energy-emitting characteristics of materials. Most

organic or oxidized surfaces have an emissivity of ±0.95 (default setting).

Measuring shiny or polished surfaces will be inaccurate. Use some masking

tape or paint to compensate, allow sufficient time for the tape or paint to

reach the surface temperature.

Refer to the table for an indication of some emissivity values.
