The power supply unit is designed to provide the tor-
sion pendulum according to Prof. Pohl (U15040) with
the DC voltage required for the electromotor and eddy-
current brake.

1. Safety instructions

• Before being put into operation the device (hous-

ing, connection cable, operating and display ele-
ments) must be examined for damage.

• Be sure to disconnect the mains plug before chang-

ing fuses or opening the housing.

• Make sure that there is no obstruction to the air

circulation around the cooling attachment at the
rear of the power supply unit.

• During the supply of high currents over a prolonged

period of time the cooling attachment of the power
supply unit becomes hot.

• Repair and maintenance may only be carried out

by authorised technicians.

• If the device has clearly experienced visible dam-

age or there is the suspicion that the device can no
longer be operated safely, please refrain from op-
erating the device and make sure that the device is
safeguarded against unintended use.

2. Description, technical data

The DC power supply for the torsion pendulum is de-
signed in accordance with the safety stipulations set
forth in DIN EN 61010 Part 1 and protection class I.
This unit is equipped with two outputs for a continu-
ously adjustable stabilized DC voltage 0 – 24 V and an
electrically isolated fixed voltage of 24 V DC. The vari-
able voltage can be read from an analog display.

There are two versions of the power supply available:
U11755–115 for mains voltage of 115V 50/60 Hz
U11755–230 for mains voltage of 230V 50/60 Hz
