If you change the integration time or anything else in the experiment setup, you will need
to store new dark and reference readings.
2. Store the dark spectrum. Block the light by turning the mirror. The spectrum line will be flat
and close to the baseline. Click the dark spectrum bulb icon (
). The dark spectrum is now
stored.
3. Store the reference spectrum. Insert the reference cuvette into the sampling lamp. The reference
cuvette should contain only the solvent, usually water or an organic solvent. With a compound in
solution, the absorbance will reduce the peak. Then, click the Reference bulb icon (
).

order and forced through the origin. Values for the molar
extinction coefficient and R

are calculated.
