Using the Intermax RSSI Tool
Ensure that that the Intermax modem is connected to your computer via the mini
USB cable and is powered.
Run the Intermax RSSI tool by double clicking on the Intermax RSSI icon
You should now see the Intermax RSSI Tool's main window:
The top line of the window shows the connection status. If the Intermax modem is not
correctly connected or the driver has not been installed then this will show the text
"Intermax Not Connected".
The signal strength reading updates roughly once every 5 seconds.
-113 dBm is the worst signal strength
-50 dBm is the best
The signal strength can be effected by the following factors:
• The service provider - this depends on your area
• The position of the Intermax modem within the site, try moving the modem
around the room to get a better signal.
• The orientation of the aerial
• The type of aerial used.
