2. Remove the screws that

secure the CD-ROM cage. The
picture on the right shows the
locations of the screws.

Removing the CD-ROM Drive

3.1 Remove/Install a CD-ROM Drive

If you wish to replace the CD-ROM drive, detach the adapter
board from the drive and attach it to the new drive. Remove
the two screws that secure the adapter board to the drive.

NOTE

1. Disconnect the power and IDE

cables from the CD-ROM
adapter board. The board
remains attached to the drive.

3. Slide the CD-ROM drive cage outward to disengage it from the

chassis. See the direction of the arrow in the above picture.

4. Lift up the drive cage from the chassis.

5. The drive is secured by four screws (two on each side) to the

cage. Remove these screws to detach the drive from the cage.
