DO NOT insert a different connector to the external SATA port.

To enable external SATA port hot-plugging, set the SATA Mode Select item in the
BIOS settings to [AHCI Mode], and then reboot the system. See section 3.4.2 Storage
Configuration for details.

Due to chipset limitation, port multipliers are not supported by the external SATA port.
•
The external SATA port will be disabled if you set the SATA Mode Select item in the
BIOS settings to [IDE Mode]. See section 3.4.2 Storage Configuration for details.
