1.1 System Overview
The DOCSIS Digital Transponder obtains data from the EDSM (Enhanced Digital Status
Monitoring) interface card through an XM2 Power Supply. The EDSM collects data directly from
the battery strings or from the AlphaBus Communications Network, depending on system
configuration.
Equipment monitored (direct battery monitoring):
• An XM2 Power Supply
• One or two 36VDC or 48VDC battery strings
• One AlphaGen stationary generator system (if installed)
