ATSC+SDI HDTV Tuner

Using USB as an RS-232 Port

We are in the process of registering the USB driver for the 232-ATSC+SDI HDTV tuner with
Microsoft, which will simplify integrating the USB port with your Windows PC. In the interim, use
the following steps to install the USB port. The instructions are for Windows 7, but the process is
similar for XP.

Download the USB driver and firmware from the 232-ATSC+SDI Product page

o

Browse to

www.crwww.com

o

Select Products, then choose the 232-ATSC+SDI

o

Select the Downloads tab and download the driver (CR USB_Comm.inf)

o

Copy to your desktop or the Download folder many browsers use

Plug a USB cable with micro USB connector between your PC and the USB port on the 232-ATSC+1

The connection will be installed, but without the correct driver.

Bring up the Control Panel, Select Hardware and Sound, then select the Device manager

Double click the FSP CDC DEVICE icon (Should be highlighted with a question mark) to view the
Properties

Select Update Driver, then

Browse my computer for driver software

Select the folder on your desktop and click OK

As the app is not yet registered, it will ask if you want to continue to install. Agree to continue and
install the driver.

This will install a COM port you can use for control or Terminal testing.
