IMPROPER ICC BAR ENGAGEMENT

1.

If the restraint fails to properly engage the ICC bar an audible alarm will sound. The
external traffic warning light remains red and the internal light remains amber.

2.

After the supervisor has inspected the dock, restraining device, and chocks, he/she
will make a decision as to what action must be taken before the truck can be ser-
viced. The supervisor presses and holds the "UNLOCK" pushbutton until the audible
alarm shuts off and the restraint is in the stored position. After the restraint is stored
the supervisor turns the key switch to the "BYPASS" mode. With the key switch in the
"BYPASS" mode, the external traffic warning light turns red and the internal light turns
amber. When the key switch is in the "BYPASS" mode, the (internal) amber light
serves as an indication to the dock attendant to proceed with caution since the
restraint has not been activated.

3.

After loading/unloading operations are completed, the dock attendant returns the key
switch to the "NORMAL" mode which changes the external traffic warning light to
green and the internal light to red.
