Chapter 8: Troubleshooting

Code A9_6 - PARAMETER ERROR / DISTANCE SETUP ERROR

One of the Distance presets is out of range

RECOVERY:
1. Verify that the Distance presets are in range for the tool size.
2. Check that the Distance presets are not <0> or setup as specified in 6.4.5.2.

Code A9_7 - PARAMETER ERROR / MANUAL OR RETURN LOAD OVER.

The Manual or Return Load is more than 1/6 of the Full Scale Load.

RECOVERY:
1. Verify there is no excessive binding in the press shaft or press fixture while jogging in manual

mode or running in the return portion of the press stroke..

2. Verify that the brake has been released while running a manual or return operation.
3. If heavy tooling is attached to the press ram causing an excessive load to be seen, set the

“Self Check Off” signal high (on) before sending a “Start” signal.

4. When using DPT-021R1 type presses, the fault load limit (1/4 of Full Scale Load) is .49 KN

(110.16 lbs.). If tooling is attached to the press ram or if the press ram is being inhibited
enough (advancing or returning) to create a load at or above the fault limit, then a firmware
and software upgrade is available to increase the fault load limit to 1/3 or 1/2 of Full Scale
Load. Upgrade the firmware to version 1.94 or later and the DSP Software to version 1.32 or
later and set Parameter 00 as follows:

ƒ To set the fault load value to 1/3 of Full Scale Load:

o

Set the first digit in Data Number 0C to “1” (Ex: 1 x x x ).

ƒ To set the fault load value to 1/2 of Full Scale Load:

o

Set the third digit in Data Number 08 to “8” (Ex: x x 8 x ).

If the fault load limit is increased and an older version of DSP
Software (before version 1.32) is used to make changes to the setup,
the fault load increase will be wiped out.
