Lubrication and Maintenance

Handpiece Lubrication and Maintenance

1.The use of a miniature filter-regulator-lubricator is required to maintain proper
operation. (Larger lubricators will not deliver the proper amount of lubricant at the low
air flow of this handpiece.)

2. Adjust the lubricant to deliver the minimum amount of oil into the air stream.

3. Use only a very light oil. Heavier oils can cause sluggish operation and a loss
of power.

4. Over lubrication will also cause the handpiece to operate in a sluggish manner.

Cleaning Instructions

It is not unusual for particulate matter from the air supply to accumulate in air
operated handpieces. You can insure dependable, smooth operation if you clean your
handpiece every 30 days as follows:

1. Disconnect air tubing connector.

2. Spray any aerosol handpiece cleaner (such as WD-40) into the inlet tube for
three seconds.

3. Reconnect air tubing connector and check performance of the handpiece.

4. Repeat three times if necessary. If the aerosol cleaning procedure fails to
improve motor performance, return for repair.
