6.8 Transaxle Purging Procedure

Lift the mower so that the rear wheels are off the ground. Be careful to support the mower so that it will not
fall or tip while the system is bled of air. Open both bypass valves (see section 6.5). Start the machine and
slowly move the control levers back and forth five or six times. It may be necessary to repeat the above
steps until all the air is purged and the rear wheels are turning at normal speed. When the transaxles
operate at normal noise levels and moves smoothly forward and reverse at normal speeds, then the
transaxle is considered purged. After purging is complete, close both bypass valves and adjust the oil level
in the reservoir if necessary.

6.9 Battery Service

The battery is 12 volts and is a maintenance free battery. Charge the battery only if it will not start the
mower effectively. Remove the battery from the mower before charging. Follow the instructions of the
battery charger for proper and safe charging of the battery. Always make sure the Positive terminal is
connected to the Positive battery post and the Negative terminal is connected to the Negative battery post.
Reversal could cause damage to the electrical system.

Keep the battery and terminals clean.

Keep battery bolts tight.
