4.0 Planning and Installation Checklist

Day 1:
•
Plan and prepare erection
•
Assemble tower
•
Test generator and use it as a motor to test drive train
•
Clean blades and install tip brake cable
•
Prepare tip brake studs and cavity
•
Prepare blade bolt inserts
•
Attach twist cable
•
Install two of three blades if time permits (fork lift, boom truck, etc.)
Day 2:
•
Lift and install tower on foundation (crane)
•
Install blades on hub
•
Install tip brakes on blade ends
•
Lift and mount machine onto the tower
•
Torque tower top fasteners
•
Torque all tower bolts and add pal nuts
Day 3:
•
Install and wire anemometers
•
Wire twist cable junction box and disconnect (if applicable) at tower base
•
Grout tower legs
•
Mount warning signs as required
•
Troubleshoot and commission
Day 4:
•
Complete any further installation details
•
Carry out final QA check
•
Monitor performance (wind permitting)
