Fibre Channel Target Endpoint requirement

Fibre Channel Target Endpoint

is a Requirements Group containing the requirements

describing a single Fibre Channel target endpoint. The Fibre Channel Target Endpoint
members are described below:

Fibre Channel Endpoint WWN

— Interface WWN

Fibre Channel Network

— Network to which the target WWN is connected.

Fibre Channel Proxy Endpoint WWN

— Network on which proxy WWN exists is the

Network to which the interface WWN is connected.

For more detailed information, see

Working with Brocade Fibre Channel networks

and

Working

with unmanaged networks

.

The Fibre Channel Target Endpoint requirement group must contain a Fibre Channel
Endpoint WWN

requirement and optionally can contain one of the other two requirements to

complete the endpoint specification. It is used to specify Fibre Channel SAN zoning service
requirements.

Fibre Channel Host requirement

The Fibre Channel Host is a Requirements Group containing the sub-requirements describing
access to a storage service for a single Fibre Channel host. Multiple Fibre Channel Host
requirements can be specified when a volume is to be presented to multiple hosts. The Fibre
Channel Host

sub-requirements are described below. Each sub-requirement is optional:

Host Entry Name

— The default name of the host as it appears on the array

NOTE:

The presence or value of this requirement only affects service matching if a

Pre-presented

requirement with a value of TRUE is specified. Otherwise, it is used to

suggest a name for newly-created host entries on the array.

NOTE:

If this value is not present and a host entry is created by SPM, SPM will generate a

name automatically for the host entry.

Operating System

— The operating system of the initiator (used by the provider to determine

a Hostmode setting)

LUN Number

— Storage must be presented with a LUN number. When omitted, the service

provider will choose a LUN number.

Volume Access

— Storage must be presented with access rights. When unspecified,

Read-write is assumed.

Fibre Channel Initiator Endpoint

— Storage must be presented to each host initiator

endpoint specified (multiple may be specified to describe multiple endpoints per host)

Pre-presented

— Causes the Host requirement group to only match against pre-presented

storage rather than configuring presentation on matching storage.

Within each Fibre Channel Host requirement, multiple Fibre Channel Initiator
Endpoint

requirements may exist which specify the ports on the host which will be accessing the

storage service.

The Pre-presented sub-requirement, when TRUE, causes the Fibre Channel Host
requirement group to be used to constrain volumes by properties of their existing presentations.
Fibre Channel Host

requirement groups without Pre-presented=TRUE may configure an

interface onto the volume. When multiple Fibre Channel Host requirements are specified,
the following operation is performed:

1.

If all Fibre Channel Host requirement groups contain Pre-presented=TRUE on them,
then the result is to only match volumes with existing presentations which match the requirements
