40 You want to listen into a Room (Room Monitoring)
You can also use the T-Net sequence, you can activate the
„connection without dialling“ with *53*
+ number +

deactivate with

. If you are using an analog telephone that de/
activates „connection without dialling“ by T-Net function key/menu, you
can use this comfortable functionality (see manual of the telephone;
eventually named „direct call“). Instead of the announcement of the
public exchange, you will get an acknowledgement tone.
If you are asked to enter a target number when using the T-Net func-
tions, you have to enter the Exchange Line Access Number 0
for exter-
nal numbers. On the PBX you are also able to enter Short-Code Dial
Numbers and internal numbers.
These settings are configuration dependent.
If you like to listen into a room, e.g to check if your baby sleeps, you can
use the function „Room Monitoring“ of the PBX. The internal telephone
has to be configured for this function. The room monitoring can be done
with an internal as well as an external telephone. After the configuration the receiver will be placed near the telephone. A
secret monitoring is not possible.
It is not possible to make a call from this telephone.
It is only possible to enable a single telephone for Room Moni-
toring at the same time.
To deactivate Room Monitoring, replace the receiver of the telephone.
