Figure 7 The VTOC Area Dialog Box

The VTOC Area dialog box displays the following items:

Start (CC:HH): This indicates the starting position of the VTOC.
The starting position is displayed in CC:HH format. CC indicates the cylinder number. HH indicates
the head number.
Note: You cannot change the value displayed in Start (CC:HH).

End (CC:HH): This enables you to specify the ending position of the VTOC.
The text box on the left enables you to specify the cylinder number. The text box on the right enables
you to specify the head number.

OK: This button applies settings in the VTOC Area dialog box to the Volume Retention Manager
window (

Figure 2

on page 15), and then closes the VTOC Area dialog box.

Caution: The OK button applies the settings to the Volume Retention Manager window, but does
not apply the settings to the storage system. To apply the settings to the storage system, you must
select Apply in the Volume Retention Manager window.

Cancel: This button cancels settings in the VTOC Area dialog box, and then closes the VTOC Area
dialog box.

Using Volume Retention Manager Spreadsheets to Set Access
Attributes

There are two ways to set access attributes with Volume Retention Manager spreadsheets:

Create a new spreadsheet

Export a spreadsheet with the current settings and edit the exported spreadsheet

The following figure shows a flow chart of setting access attributes with Volume Retention Manager
spreadsheets.
