About alerts

This section describes alert management in P9000 Command View AE Suite.

The status of managed storage systems is usually regularly monitored and whenever a problem occurs
in a storage system managed by P9000 Command View AE Suite, an alert is shown in the Storage
System Alerts report on the Dashboard.

Alert details can be confirmed on the Tasks & Alerts tab. Resolved alerts can be deleted manually
from the list.

In addition, settings can be specified so that alerts are reported when SNMP traps are received from
storage systems and the contents of alerts are automatically sent by email. For details on these settings,
see the HP P9000 Command View Advanced Edition Suite Software Administrator Guide.

Searching resources

This module describes how to search and report on storage resources.

About searching storage resources

You can search resources within the storage system to find resources satisfying conditions before
performing storage system operations, or investigate the configuration of the storage system.

When the user already knows the names of items such as the host, storage system, volume, or parity
group, the user can select the target and search for the resource by entering a keyword. When the
user searches for resources other than a volume and when the link for the resource in the search result
is clicked, the cursor moves to the appropriate information in the Resources tab. When a volume is
searched and the link for the volume in the search result is clicked, detailed information for that volume
will be displayed. If the user wants to search for a resource by using multiple search conditions, specify
the range to be searched and the conditions for the volume, parity groups, THP pool, and free space.

Searches can be used to select operational resources. You can also name and save search conditions
for future use, and, if appropriate, make the saved search public for use by other users.

After searching for storage resources by specifying the conditions, the following operations can be
performed as needed:

Monitoring operations in a SAN environment
