network bandwidth, the iSCSI protocol traffic can theoretically consume some or
all of the bandwidth allotted to the FCIP connection. If that happens, both iSCSI
and FCIP I/O commands are subject to failure due to dropped packets in the WAN
network. By isolating the iSCSI protocol from the FCIP protocol using separate
network connections, it is possible to prevent a failure in the FCIP portion of the
system due to over-subscription of the WAN connection.
