Reasons why volumes cannot be used as migration sources or migration targets

If a volume cannot be used as a migration source or migration target and the reason for it is displayed,
one of the following character strings is displayed in the Migration Restrictions column.

Cache Residency or Cache Residency Manager for Mainframe is set
for the volume.

Cache LUN XP

The volume is used as a command device.

Command Device

The volume is one of the following:

The volume is the P-VOL of a Snapshot pair, its status is PAIR, and
the number of generations is 64

The volume is the P-VOL of a Snapshot pair and its status is not
PAIR

The volume is the V-VOL of a Snapshot pair

The volume is the POOL of a Snapshot pair

XP Snapshot Status, Snapshot XP
Status

The volume belongs to the resource groups used for a data migration
that use virtual IDs.

Data migration that uses virtual IDs

The volume is a THP/Smart pool volume.

XP Thin Provisioning [Pool Volume]

The volume is a THP/Smart volume and is not associated with a THP/
Smart pool.

XP Thin Provisioning [Unassigned]

The volume is locked by Data Retention Utility (not Read/Write).

Externally Locked

The volume is part of an in-progress data migration that uses virtual
IDs.

In progress data migration that uses
virtual IDs

The volume has already been reserved as a migration target.

Migration Reserved

Information for the volume cannot be acquired.

Not Acquired Volume Information

The volume has already been reserved in Device Manager.

Reserved

The volume is part of a Business Copy or Hitachi ShadowImage for
Mainframe S-VOL, and paired with an SP-VOL.

Business Copy Configuration [Leaf]
Business Copy XP Configuration [Leaf]

The volume is part of a Business Copy or Hitachi ShadowImage for
Mainframe SP-VOL, and paired with two S-VOLs.

Business Copy Configuration [Node]
Business Copy XP Configuration [Node]

The volume is part of a Business Copy or Hitachi ShadowImage for
Mainframe P-VOL, and paired with three S-VOLs.

Business Copy Configuration [Root]
Business Copy XP Configuration [Root]

The volume is a system disk.

System Disk

This is a Fast Snap P-VOL, V-VOL, or Pool.
