5-1-2 Logging Out of Device Manager

Each Device Manager user must log out of Device Manager when finished performing operations to prevent
unauthorized use of Device Manager. Device Manager maintains an audit log of all user actions to enable
verification and traceability of Device Manager operations.

CAUTION:

When you log out of Device Manager, you also log out of other Command View XP AE Suite

software and the Java™ GUI (the panel for browsing and setting detailed information about the storage
subsystem, and the panel for setting user access permissions and operating permissions). If you log out of
Device Manager before completion of tasks you executed in the Java™ GUI, the processing may be
canceled and inconsistencies may occur in the system. Finish all the tasks, and then log out from Device
Manager.

To log out of Device Manager:

1.

On the main window, select Logout in the menu bar.

2.

When the confirmation panel displays, as shown in

Figure 5-2

, select OK to log out, or select Cancel to

cancel your request.

CAUTION:

An operation might be possible while reloading a window, depending on the number of window

items or network status. In such a case, make sure that reloading of the window has finished before
performing the operation. If the operation is performed during the reload, an error might occur.
